Lighting the Way Toward Hope, Connection, and Prevention.

Light the Way Idaho raises awareness for mental health and suicide prevention while building spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

WHY WE EXIST

Mental health is not an abstract issue in our community. It is personal.

Light the Way Idaho was created by individuals who have experienced the quiet weight of mental health struggles within our own lives and families. Each of us has witnessed how stigma keeps people silent and how isolation grows when conversations do not happen.

Many of us have also experienced profound loss due to suicide. Grief has a way of clarifying what matters. It revealed how urgently we need connection, visibility, and earlier intervention in our communities.

This organization was built from shared experience and shared commitment.

We exist to create spaces where hard conversations are welcomed. Where hope is active, not abstract. Where community shows up before crisis reaches its breaking point.

Because prevention begins long before an emergency. It begins with connection, courage, and community.

WHAT WE DO

Turning Awareness Into Action

We host community centered events and educational initiatives designed to reduce stigma and strengthen protective factors.

Our work includes:
• Annual rallies such as Light the Night for Hope
• Educational panels featuring professionals and lived experience speakers
• Resource fairs connecting individuals to local support services
• Youth and campus engagement initiatives
• Movement based awareness events

Prevention begins long before crisis. It begins with connection.

OUR VISION

The Impact We Are Building

We envision a statewide culture where mental health is treated as community health.

Through collaboration, education, and consistent engagement, we aim to:

• Reduce stigma around mental health and suicide
• Increase help seeking behavior
• Strengthen collaboration between organizations
• Expand prevention education for youth and families
• Ensure more Idahoans know where to turn before crisis escalates

When we create visible support systems, people step forward.
